Nothing like starting a day by waking up in the mountains, fly fishing, foraging, basking in sun showers amongst wild flowers, and then looking up to see a double rainbow. All before 10AM.

Rainbows are a phenomenon caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum in the sky.

The arc of a primary rainbow will show red on the outer part and violet on the inner side. A double rainbow will have reversed colours with red on the inner side of the arc, because light is being reflected twice inside the water droplet before exiting.
